| August Membership Meeting August 15, 2009 |
| Ann and Dennis Cherry hosted the August Membership Meeting on the 15th. |
| Scott Whitfield provided the following report on the meeting. |
| Railroad friends, Had a very nice meeting of old railroad friends this afternoon. Dennis and Ann Cherry did a wonderful job of hosting a meeting of the NTGRC. One board member was in attendance. It was great to see my old friend Ron Natinsky and his lovely wife. Dennis and Ann ran trains, served refreshments, and Dennis gave us some great insight into his successful conversion of building plans to a more realistic scale than the typical 1:24 scale. He shared with us the methods he used in constructing scratch built models right down to laying individual shingles on the structures! It was a very enjoyable and informative time. Drawings were held and several folks went home with goodies. I believe there were 15 people in attendance. It's my understanding that the September meeting is to be on the 19th (my birthday:)) at Donna Orr and Roger Shank's place in Rockwall. You have no excuse to miss this next one. It's the big green house on the hill. Thanks to Dennis and Ann for the invitation. I had a great time. |

| SEPTEMBER MEMBERSHIP MEETING September 19th, 2009 |
|
Donna Orr and Roger Shank in Rockwall hosted the September Membership meeting. |
|
Donna says: We do have a layout. It's not very large. It is in the front of the house in the plant bed. The name of the layout is Green Stone Gulch. I started it because I found many old cowboy and Indian toys (some from the 1950's) and needed something to do with them. I have other layouts in the house of other scales and none of them have any western content. And yes I always welcome ideas for my layouts, so if you want to evaluate and recommend that would be great. Soon I hope to DCC my outdoor trains. |

| FT. WORTH TRAIN SHOW November 14-15, 2009 |
One of the stated purposes of our club is "To promote and expand the hobby of Garden Railroading." Participating in the various train shows is part of that purpose and goal. The club had a multi-train layout and information on Garden Railroading and the club at this show. We provided 15 hours to the show to man ticket and information tables and assist with security. We had lots trains to run. Several members got to show off their stuff. |
| As with all Club Activities, participation in this train show is entirely voluntary. We appreciate all those who helped out. If you were not able to help, we will enjoy your presence at another activity. |
